CyberEPQ

Calling all forward thinking outward facing schools and colleges.

  • Do you have a clear ambition to provide all your younger people with the relevant skills for the ever-changing complex world?
  • Are you passionate about STEM/STEAM and the world of IT?
  • In your learning community have you a talented set of students who dream of an apprenticeship/ career with the best companies in the UK or at the highest performing UK Universities?
  • Do you want your organisation to be recognised as a leading cutting-edge organisation by business/ industry?

If the answer is yes, then welcome to the CyberEPQ.

The CyberEPQ is like the standard EPQ with the main difference involving students completing up to 11 mandatory modules in different areas of cyber security. This allows students to gain a holistic understanding of the cyber industry, develop cyber skills, understand how cyber works in real life and boost their confidence to take their cyber career to the next stage. Students will gain a passion in a certain area of cyber and be able to further investigate this by producing a 5,000-word written project and a presentation. This is a Level 3 qualification is worth half an A-Level and will be awarded up to 28 UCAS points, provides a great talking point in personal statements and interviews and allows students to develop soft study skills.

The CyberEPQ has achieved National Cyber Security Council (NCSC) CyberFirst brand recognition meaning it is recognised as a high-quality course which successfully supports young people to improve their cyber security knowledge. It is therefore part of the CyberFirst pipeline.
Enrolment for the 24-25 one-year cohort CyberEPQ opens on June 18th 2024. This course runs from September-March with results coming out for students on A-Level results day in August 2025.
